     Coalition News

We are concerned with how many people are in our coalition. Remember, Jesus began with 12 people! it is not how many people you have, but who you have. Our tendency is to seek strength in numbers. As a result we focus on the number of people we have in our coalitions and not the changes we want to see in our communities. The right people for a coalition can not be found on a check-list or grant. Leadership and membership for our coalitions can come from anywhere and be any size. The only qualification is that members care about making a change in their community and have the resolve to stick with the process until the outcome is achieved. Skills can be learned - character and resolve are inherent. The Rand Corporation did a study to to determine the optimum size for a coalition, they determined that 20 people were enough to change any size community! Lets focus not on our members, but on our effect!
