Dual Disorder Program

The Dual Diagnosis works closely with treatment centers and social service agencies to provide a "safety net" for individuals with mental illness and substance abuse issues.  Program services are counseling, home visits, case management, advocacy and crisis stabilization.  To enter the program, the potential participant only needs to make an appointment.  Specially trained and licensed staff will screen for both mental health and substance abuse disorders to identify the nature of the participant's problems.  Staff is also available to the patient's family.  Staff and participant's work to identify resources and link the patient with support groups, CCCMHMR programs, employment services, life skills training, vocational training and  education, public housing programs, and informal support networks such as churches and neighbors.  Program staff are located in Temple, Killeen, and CCCMHMR sites on a rotating basis in Gatesville, Temple, Killeen.
